about
sonorous
Sonorous began as a single-night warehouse session and grew into a four-day festival — without losing the plot. Four tuned stages, lineups programmed like mixtapes, and a crowd that listens as hard as it dances.

Every November, twenty thousand people gather at Blackpine Fields for fifty-plus hours of house, techno, drum & bass, experimental electronics, psytrance and everything humming between.
No headliner circus, no VIP labyrinth between you and the music. Our residents play three hours minimum, the budget goes into the PA first, and nights run past sunrise because the floor asks them to.

festival philosophy
Long sets. Loud rigs. Low egos.
Patience over peaks
Our residents play three hours minimum. Music needs time to go somewhere — we give it the night.
Sound before spectacle
The budget goes into the PA first, the lights second, the fireworks never. Weight you feel in your chest.
Everyone inside
Strict safer-spaces policy, free water everywhere, welfare tents that never close. Come as you are.
stages — four currents
Four stages, four currents
Each stage holds a current — wide enough apart that sounds never bleed, close enough to cross the site between sets.
Mainframe
house // big room // tech house
House pressure at full scale — the meeting point for opening nights and sunrise closers.
Vault
deep // dark // experimental
Low ceiling, heavy system. The 2am room regulars plan their whole festival around.
Mirage Dome
down tempo // electro // ambient
Daytime drift, workshops and listening sessions — the soft landing between big nights.
Field Stage
drum & bass // psytrance
Open sky, full rig, lasers over the pines. Drum & bass into the psytrance sunrise.

Days by the food tents, nights by the rigs
By day: twenty-plus food tents, record fairs, production workshops and ambient sessions in the Dome. By night: the full rigs come on and the field becomes a single moving body until sunrise.
Between sets, find the listening bar, the late-night cinema tent, and the famous 6am cocoa stand by the pines.
community + ground
The floor makes the festival
A third of our crowd returns every year — volunteers, vinyl crews, the sunrise regulars who close the Field Stage. Run with a community board, open decks for local DJs, and free tickets for the neighbourhood that hosts us.
A former airfield ringed by pine forest, forty minutes from the city. Reusable cups site-wide, free water at every stage, and a green team pushing us from 82% waste diverted toward 90.
